What Am I Doing???

It all started when my company decided in June 2015 to announce the sale of itself to another company.  The severance packages were looking pretty good.  It got me thinking...

I don't have a lot of regrets in life, but one big one was not studying abroad in college.  I ran into a colleague from work who had just written a book about the trend of adults taking a career break, aka an Adult Gap Year.  Who knew this was a thing?

My fiancee is supportive, my parents are terrified, and I'm stoked.  I'm deciding to take one of the biggest risks of my life, leaving my cushy Wall St job, strap on a backpack, and start a 9 month trip around the world.  

This couldn't have come at a better time.  I was an IT nerd at a large global bank and while I love my team, I stayed way too long in an industry that had lost its luster for me.  I needed a break from the rat race to refocus and who knows when I may have the opportunity again.

I will miss my friends, my fiancee, and New York City, but I am so excited for the adventure that lies ahead.  Below is a rough schedule of what lies ahead this year.  If you're available to join any part of it, or already have a trip planned where I could join you, let me know!

August - I get to marry my best friend and the love of my life. 12 years in the making!
